MHIRT Research Projects at the Universita La Sapienza, Rome

Project 1: Experience of Caregivers with Institutionalized and Non-Institutionalized Patients

  • Students will help with planning the study, assisting with interviewing, reading literature, begin analyzing transcriptions.
  • Back translate tools if needed.

Project 2: Body Image After Colostomy and Mastectomy.

  • Existing data – assist with descriptive analysis, help interpret findings, assist in writing articles in English; administer instruments, validate instruments: Hogan-Griff checklist, Beck Depression, Anxiety tool, reliability study.
  • Back translate tools if needed.

Project 3: Caregiving and Family Dynamics with Institutionalized and Non-Institutionalized elders.

  • Back translation of tools, quantitative data collection in ambulatory care, assist with preparing the data, define the data set.

Other research project activities that students will complete are:

  • Students will work 40 hours a week.
  • Participate in qualitative study “Caregiving of Alzheimer’s with institutionalized and non-institutionalized spouses and their children – go with Dr. Sansoni into the interview.
  • Participate in quantitative study “Caregiving of Alzheimer’s with institutionalized and non-institutionalized spouses and their children
  • Preparing codebook information for entry into SPSS (variable definitions/labels, etc). Enter into SPSS and some data entry.
  • Prepare data for analysis.
  • Other Research Activity as designated by Dr. Sansoni.
